Your details, in plain English.
Short version: we keep your name and email to send you what you asked for. We don’t sell them, pass them to marketers or spam you.
Who we are
Build It Proper is run by Pete Macumber of Webflexr, a web agency in Sydney, Australia. When this page says “we” or “us”, that’s who it means.
What we collect
When you sign up for something on this site (the mailing list, the App Readiness Quiz waitlist or the free PRD Claude skill), we keep:
- your first name and email address
- which freebie you asked for, and when
- the page you signed up on, the site that sent you there and any campaign tags in the link (like
utm_source) - whether our emails to you were sent, and how many times you downloaded the PRD skill
- a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your IP address, used only to stop spam and repeated sign-ups
Why we collect it
To send you what you asked for, and the occasional email when there’s something worth reading: new articles, videos, tools, and news about the quiz, community and courses as they launch. That’s it.
Who else sees it
We never sell or rent your details, and we never pass them on for anyone else’s marketing. Two outside services do handle them so the site works: Resend delivers our emails, including a note to our own inbox each time someone signs up, and may do that outside Australia; and our business inbox is hosted by Google Workspace, so those sign-up notes (your name, email and the page you signed up on) are kept there. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google’s servers for them. There are no ad pixels or tracking cookies on this site.
Where it’s kept
In the website’s database on our server in Australia, and in the sign-up notification emails in our business inbox. Only we have access to either.
Like any website, our server’s security logs record the IP address of each visit (and of each sign-up). Those logs are deleted automatically after 90 days.
Getting off the list, or seeing what we hold
Reply “unsubscribe” to any email from us and you’re off the list. To see, fix or delete what we hold about you, email pete.macumber@webflexr.co and we’ll sort it out.
Not happy with how we’ve handled your details? Tell us first and we’ll fix it. If we can’t sort it out, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
